YOUR OPT-IN LIST.

Building Your Business with an Opt-in List

Email marketing is one of the most effective marketing methods nowadays simply because virtually almost all people use email. Check on those email fields or blanks required to be filled up on various forms needed in processing different transactions. A person without an email address is tantamount to a person without an online home, which is one big important truth about this generation.

Make sure that your email marketing campaigns do not offend people.

The way to surmount this dilemma is through permission-based advertising. There's no harm in trying after you have gained their permission.

You must be very careful as to who to, and who not to email. Learn to know which group of people on your list would give you high ROI or return on investment.

The Real Deal with Building Opt-in Lists.
Building an opt-in list is not a piece of cake particularly for the uninitiated. Here is a rundown of tips on how to succeed in this kind of marketing endeavor.

The strategic Collection of Data

Know which information to ask for. What information will help you lower your expenses and make sales flourish. If you want information from your prospects, ask for it. Don’t be shy.

Ask for information regarding their full name and email addresses. That’s all you really need to make sales. I find it a big turn off when I am asked for my home and business address, plus my phone number, when I know for sure that they will never need to use this information.

Good Implementation

Various methods, often low-cost, abound to hasten and facilitate the building up of one's opt-in database.

Modern technology should be employed in making this aspect of your marketing a lot more manageable. Tracking your email marketing results can be left to your auto-responder. Make note of your high traffic groups of opt-ins. There is no need to over spend when building an opt-in list. Websites are an excellent tool for data collation and providing you with relevant info regarding your email offers. Use forms that solicit your visitor's email address and consent. A good auto-responder Will be capable of doing most of this work for you.

You may want to ask for signups for email services. Make your website more visible through these media. Offering free electronic newsletters and or rewards program can do well in making it easy to win the nod of your audiences, too.

Giveaway offers or entries on sweepstakes are great for opt-in to volunteer their contact details.

These tactics should be applied with adequate caution and should focus on earning the trust of your opt-in list instead of simply collating data for your sole benefit. Always make sure that the forms that you use and other methods that you employ will not necessitate too much fuss to subscribe. Make it easy for people to signup to your list. Don’t ask too many questions.

You can’t go wrong provided you use your own opt-in list and make sure that every time you mail your list, you provide somewhere on the letter, a link where they can easily ask to be taken off the list. (It’s the law.)

CHATROOMS.

Using Chat Rooms in Viral Marketing
Spamming chat rooms or instant messaging systems with undifferentiated marketing messages is certainly not a very good idea. But if they are used the right way, these channels can be great to communicate with the market - especially to establish a dialogue with customers.

Have you ever been to a chat room and posted a message? If you have then you may have learned some free web-advertising secrets on how to market your products and service. Chat rooms are usually broken into categories. You will need to find the right chat room where your targeted audience would gather. If there isn’t one, them you may need to create one.

It will be of no use creating one that is obviously for the sole purpose of selling your product or service. That's a No,No. What it needs is to attract people who would be interested in your product or service. For example: If you sell garden products, your chat room should be on the subject of gardening and not the brand name of the products you sell.

When you have more experiance with chat rooms for promoting your business, comsider including a chat room on your web site. Host a free online seminar in your own chat room about a subject of your expertise. Use your chat room to meet with your current customers and answer any questions or address and problems they may have. Regularly schedule free events in your chat room and be certain that your customers are made aware of when they will occur.

For example, you might know someone who is an expert in the field to answer questions on a certain day and between certain hours. You could, also, host other people’s chat rooms as an expert yourself. You could charge for this but it might be wise to do it free to gain publicity.

FREE TRAFFIC.

Generating Traffic Using Only Free Methods

Setting up a company will of course require a number of things, not least capital. To make money you need money. But of course, with the versatility of the internet there are many ways you can use to get going without breaking the bank.

There are a number of ways to jumpstart your traffic. and you don’t have to spend a cent to get it; all you need is the proper mindset. Plus the will and incentive to stick with it

Getting traffic without spending money involves a little more work and takes a little more time than when you pay for it. But it can be done.

1/ Take advantage of online forums and communities. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the particular demographic that you are working for. You can discuss lots of things about the niche that you represent. Another great advantage is that you can get all the help you may need from other members. Ask questions, there is always someone in the forum who knows the answer.

Don’t just ask questions. If you see a question that interests you, surf the web for the answer and answer it on the forum. Do this a few times and you will become a respected, knowledgeable member of the community.

2/ You can also make use of newsletters. Provide people with a catalog of your products and interesting and entertaining articles. If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to others. The more people who sign up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your traffic. (Traffic is the name of the game.)

3/ Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You don’t have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. With exchanging links, the efforts both sites do will benefit both sites. Every traffic that goes to the site could potentially click on the link of your site and visit your site as well. This works well especially when both sites feature the same niche.

4/ Write articles that will catch the attention of people who are interested in your product. Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to other webmasters. Writing articles that provide service and knowledge to other people will provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs.

There are a number of free article submission sites where you can place your articles. When people find one of your articles of interest to them there is a good chance that they will follow your link to find out where the article originated. Include a link and a brief description of your company with the article and there’s a great probability that they will go to your site.

Write good content for your site. Many search engines track down the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they are used. It is known as ‘keyword optimization.’ It helps the search engines to find you.

Generally, internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for. Search engines in return use keyword searching in aiding their search results. With the right keywords, you could get high rankings in search engine results without any costs to you.

All of these methods and more will drive traffic to your site for free. All it takes is a bit of effort and extended man hours. Learn all you can about the methods depicted here and you will soon have a site with a great traffic flow without the usual costs involved.

YOUR OPT-IN LIST.

Can You Really Use Articles To Build Your Opt In List?
You bet you can!

REMEMBER. The money is in the list. Keep that phrase at the back of your mind at all times.
Getting customers in your site should always be your prime concern.
How do you create a list when you are just starting out. The obvious way is to ask people to join your list. But before you can ask, you have to find the people.

It’s not all that difficult. There are a number of ways of finding the people who could be interested in what you have to offer.
One tried and trusted method is by writing short, informative articles. These articles are distributed free to anyone who likes to publish them. A well written article will get published in ezines and newsletters, even in book form, all over the world. I came across an article, that I had written over two years ago. in an ezine published in April this year. It was still working for me after all that time.

I said that it was still working for me. How was that? “Good question.” At the bottom of every article that you write, you put short note that says who you are, what you do with a link back to your website. It’s known as a ‘resource box’.
You also state at the beginning that anyone can publish the article provided that they also publish the author’s resource box at the bottom An article in an ezine with many thousands of subscribers will be read by a very large percentage of them. Most will read your little note at the bottom and some will click on the link back to your website to see what you are offering.

When this happens, your auto-responder will capture the name and address so that it can send an email asking their permission for you to email them with further offers at a later date. If they agree, you have another addition to your ‘Opt In List.’. If you email them without their permission it is what is known as SPAM.. No one likes Spam and it is now illegal in most countries.

Why would the author of an ezine use your article rather than write his/her own? It’s a good question. Let’s answer it. Put your self in their shoes. You are running a business. It takes up a lot of your time. Your ezine is your main method of keeping in touch with your customers. They have all agreed to receive the ezine on a regular weekly basis, and expect it to arrive on time.
If the ezine contains only two articles in each publication, that will require 100 articles each year. That is a lot of extra work for someone who wants the benefits of working on-line, plus some free time with the family.

How will the publisher know that you have written an article? “You ask some good questions,” There are two main ways. One is to find an ezine that uses outside articles and is compatible with your article. Email the author offering the article for publication.
An even better way is to find an ezine that uses outside articles and write one to suit that particular ezine, Then make your offer to the publisher. You could end up being paid a fee to write the regular weekly articles for that ezine. With your own ‘Resource box’ at the bottom of each.

Working in this manner can take up a lot of your time. Time that could be spent writing more articles. There is another way.

Article directories. What is an article directory? “You ask a lot of questions.”
An article directory is just what the name implies. “A directory of articles” Somewhere where an author can have his/her articles listed for publication in ezines and newsletters. This is where people come to from all over the world looking for articles suitable for their particular ezine etc. .

Now is the time to start your own ezine. Once you start an opt-in list you must keep in touch with it.

Well written articles full of content and useful information will help in building your reputation as an expert in your subject. More subscribers will be enticed to your list. When they read the articles in your ezine, they will be intrigued as to what will come next. Subscribers to your ezine will be offered freebies and special offers on a regular basis earning money for you every time that you publish.

Have a special section on your website for all of your articles. Once people find it they will come back again and again to see what’s new. If they like your style of writing, they could become regular users of your articles. Every time that one of your articles is published a flurry of its readers will click on your link at the bottom to see what you are offering. It may be only a dozen or so. Or it could be several hundreds. It will depend upon the number of subscribers the publication has. Once your articles start to circulate your opt-in list will start to grow without any extra help from you.

Many sites and companies have realized the importance of articles and this also aids in search engine optimization. As more people are heading towards the internet for their information needs, Giving them the right information via articles on your site will increase the flow of your website traffic. With more traffic, the percentage of your sales will grow. More sales turn into more profit.

There is a demand for well written, information enriched and keyword packed articles. If you can write them. You owe it to yourself and your dependents to get stuck in and do it.

ARTICLES/2

Making Money with Articles: Optimal Article Length

When choosing an article for your website, make sure that it is a length that is optimal for search engine optimization. Articles that are as short as 200 words or as long as 500 words should fit into this category. Even if search engine optimization is not your goal, it is still a good idea to keep your articles at this length for your reader’s sake. They are likely to not finish your page if it is any longer.

This could leave them winith only half of the information you wanted them to have or leave them with the impression that your site is too “wordy”. Most Internet readers do not read a website page as they would a book, so the shorter the better. Even if this means splitting one long idea into 4 or 5 pages. Be sure to label them so that the reader can pick and choose which part they want to read or so they know what is coming up next to help them determine if they want to continue reading.
If you are at all unsure as to the length of articles required by other ezine publishers, Go to one or more of the article directories and checkout the length that they recommend. They are the experts and will provide all the information that you may require.

If you find that you are having difficulty keeping your articles short enough for the requirements of the article directories, Don’t worry. Make sure that you have written everything that is relevant to the subject, even if it goes way beyond one thousand words.

You have the basis of a book. Half a dozen or more long articles put together in one volume has a value in its own right. If they are all on the same theme, so much the better. You may be able to extend some of your shorter articles to make up the number. If you save it as a PDF file that can be downloaded from your website, You have created the first of a long line of your own products that no one else is selling. Priced at about $19.99 it should generate sales for years to come.

MONEY FROM ARTICLES/1

Making Money with Articles: Article Directories

Article directories are websites that house free articles. These articles are usually put there by whoever owns the copyright to them as a promotion method. Each article has the owners byline placed under it so that those who eventually read the article will know who wrote it (or at least who owns it) and will be able to get in contact with or visit their website for further information.

Articles directories are a great place to put your articles so that they will make you money. By using this method, people who are interested in your product or service will see your article, view you as an expert in the subject, and will visit your website. Even if you cannot write or do not have any knowledge on the subject on which you are promoting (for example for you run an affiliate website), you can always hire a writer to do the work for you. Getting quality articles written will be expensive up front, but they will pay for themselves in no time, either through affiliate sales or selling your own services, and everything from then on is pure profit.

Let’s take a real life example. Imagine that you are an accountant working from home. You write an article on an accounting topic and place it on various article directories. Those who are looking for the subject you wrote about will read your article, see that you have the knowledge and skill that is needed to do a job for them, and visit your website or contact you via e-mail. Your article just gained you a new client who may use your services regularly, but will definitely give you a nice profit at least once.

Furthermore, since you have posted it on a free article directory, others who have affiliate websites about accounting will inevitably use your article for their website. Since they must attach your byline to it, this will bring you even more exposure for every website that re-posts your article. This because you will be benefiting of off the traffic that they get to their website.

There are numerous article directories out there for you to utilize. Your bet best is to put a copy of each of your articles on every one for maximum exposure. It will eventually help to bring more traffic and customers to your website, which will lead to new orders and more profit.

There are sites that will submit your articles to hundreds of article directories in one go. Some do it for free and some make a small charge for their services. It saves you a lot of time that you can use writing even more articles.
your time and your skills are your greatest assets. Use them wisely.

WORK IS A FOUR LETTER WORD

w/c 764

WORK IS A FOUR LETTER WORD,

How often have you heard this remark? (In jest)

To a lot of people the word 'Work' is more than just a four letter word. It is something that takes up more than a third of their life. Something that has to be endured to provide for the family. To put food on the table and to pay the rent and taxes.

To some others work is something that they look foreword to and are not happy when something comes between them and their passion.

The first group of people are, as a general rule, people who work for wages. I was going to say that they worked for other people. That would not have been true. No matter who employs you, it's the money at the end of the week/month that really matters.

The other group is comprised mostly of people who run their own businesses.

The sad thing about this second group is that over thirty-five percent of the self employed fail within the first three years of starting their businesses. There are thousands who would like to start an internet business but never get around to it.

DOES IT HAVE TO BE THAT WAY?

Let us look at starting a business on the internet.

Firstly you will need the incentive to succeed.
You will also need the will to succeed.
You will then require the knowledge to succeed.

That is just the basis, but if you can relate to the above short list you are almost half way there.

Don't think that it is going to be easy. Nothing worth while is ever easy.

You are going to have to work hard during the initial stages. Once you have it all set up and running, It will get easier.

Let us start with the basics. First decide what you want to sell. Then decide how you are going to sell it.

Do you have a product of your own to sell? Or will you be selling another person's product on commission? Perhaps you will be offering a service.

With a little experience you may decide to develop your own product. Or maybe purchase one that you can sell and to keep all of the profits.

Whatever it is, you will need to advertise. 'How'. There are so many different ways.

All that I can do is to explain the various ways that I use.

Everyone has their own preferences. I have tried most of them and have settled upon the following:

E-zine adverts. Choose a selection of e-zines that are relevant to your product or service.

You then have the choice of which type of advert' to use. If you are a bit short of cash, the free ad's will appeal to you.

Use them by all means, free ad's are better than no ad's at all. You will get a reasonable response. It will also give you good practice writing the adverts. If you can learn to produce an advert in the three or four lines that are generally allowed in the free ads section that get a good response, you will surely get a much better response in the paid advert section where you have much more space to get your message across.

As soon as you can afford it, I would recommend that you start doing top sponsor adverts on the various e-zines. This is the spot that readers see as soon as they open the ezine. Right at the top of the page with even more room to display your message. I have found these to be one of the best ways of promoting my products.

When using e-zine advertising, It is most important that you are extremely selective in the ones that you use. Just because a particular e-zine does not have a big readership it does not mean that it is not worth advertising in. It is the quality of the readership that counts not the quantity.

An ezine with a readership of twenty thousand may have fewer readers who are interested in what you are offering than one with a few hundred readers who are all interested in your particular subject.

Footnote:

If you do decide to use 'free ads' whatever you do, don't use your main e-mail address. You are sure to get a flood of trash e-mail.

Set up a spare e-mail account especially to receive the replies.

IT WON'T WORK IF YOU DON'T TRY.

Give it a go.

Why Do People Read Adverts?

w/c 996
WHY?

Not for fun.
Not for entertainment.
Not because they are bored.

They are seeking information. They want to know something.
They are definitely not looking to buy anything.
It’s the same when surfing the net. Very few surfers are looking to purchase a product.
When they are looking for a product it is generally to compare prices with similar products for sale on the high streets. They are looking for information (Prices.)

How often do you glance down the pages of small ad’s in your local newspaper? Were you looking for something in particular? I
very much doubt it. Did something catch your eye? It would have been a headline referring to something of definite interest to you.

Your local newspaper will have a circulation of many thousands.
How many would have been captured by that particular advert?
Answer: Only those who, like you, are interested in that particular subject. Just stop and think for a moment, It was not the advert that stopped you and invited you to read, it was the headline.
Which brings me to my point. If the headline doesn’t catch you, you’ll not read the advert. The most cleverly written advert will not sell for you if the headline doesn’t do its job. It must make you stop and take a closer look.
I won’t go into what makes a good headline. There are dozens of books written on the subject. Written by people who are experts in that field.

Everyone wants to get a better return for their advertising costs.
The first law of advertising. “A better advert with a better headline will get better results”. We all know that. It’s pretty obvious. What else? “The more people who read it, the more sales you will make”. That’s obvious too.

So. We have a brilliant advert with a fantastic headline but we are still not getting the R.O.O. ‘The Return On Outlay’. In other words, we feel that we should be getting a better return for the money we are spending on our advertising. What can we do about it?

The first thing that I would look at is the advertising venue. The place where I am displaying the ads. My preference is for ezine adverts. Have I chosen the right ezines. There are ezines with hundreds of thousands of readers. There are lots of others with just a few hundred readers. Where will I get the best response?
The ones with the most readers will charge me a lot more per advert than those with just a few readers. The cost per thousand readers of the big ezines may be slightly less than the smaller ones but I have to look at some percentages.
What percent of the readers of the big ezines are interested in my product? If the ezine is one of general readership, probably about five percent. Five percent of one hundred thousand is five thousand potential readers. Of which about six percent my click through to take a look at what is on offer. That is three hundred who may take a look. Out of that three hundred, two percent may make a purchase. I have a potential of six sales from a readership of 100,000 I can expect six sales at $19.99. A return of $119.94. The advert cost me $100.00. Leaving a profit of $19.94. I didn’t lose but was it worth the time and trouble?

What if I had chosen to advertise in ezines with a much smaller readership? I am still prepared to spend $100.00 on advertising. That means that I can spread it amongst several venues. I do a search on Google for ezines with up to 5,000 readers. There are thousands of them. I then search for those with an interest in my book’s subject. That cuts the list down to under one hundred. The average cost to advertise in these smaller mag’s is between $20 and $25 00. I
can afford to advertise in
four of them.

I spend the next two hours sorting through the list looking for the most suitable ones to invest my money in. I pick my four. Three at $25.00 and one at $20.00. $95.00 in total. The four mag’s between them have a readership of only $18,000. but they all have a close affinity with the subject of the book that I am selling.
In other words, the vast majority of those 18,000 readers have an interest in what I am selling. I can expect a click through rate of at least 15%. I expect about 2,500 readers to be interested enough to click to take a closer look at my offering. If the same 2%, as above, take up my offer that will mean 50 sales for the same outlay giving a return of almost $1,000, less the $100 for the adverts leaves me with £900.00 to go into my bank account.

When we compare the two scenarios, something comes to mind that my old grandma used to say, “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.”

P,S. You may think that the figures that I have used are a bit ‘Over the top’. You could be excused for thinking that way, except that is exactly what happened to me two years ago. I was pouring advertising money down the drain until a very good friend put me straight. You will find, as I did, that the smaller mag’s readership is more closely focused on one particular subject. It’s up to you to do your research and find the ones most interested in your product. You will find that the time taken researching for the right magazines to place your ads will be time well spent.

PERSUASION

w/c 515

Why do you buy?
Is it because you like it?
Is it because you need it?
Is it because you want it?

Any two of the above three reasons will make a sale.
You must appeal to the prospects emotions.

If you can get them to like it and they also need it, You have a god chance of a sale.
If you can get them to like it and make them want it, There is an even better chance of making a sale.
The next is obvious. If they need it and they also want it they will buy it.
If all three of the above reasons come into play at the same time they will be banging on your door to get it.

If someone tries to persuade me to buy something I am immediately turned off.. I like to decide where and when I spend my money. The decision must be mine.

If I am shown an advert for something that will be of benefit to me, my family or my business and it is something that I can afford, I will want it. As soon as I want it my subconscious will think up dozens of reasons as to why I should buy it. It will not matter if I really need it. I will convince myself that I do. I probably have something already that will do a similar job. Once my subconscious gets the idea that I want it, reason will go out of the window.

It’s called “Playing To The Emotions.”

If you can make someone want it, Half the battle is over.
They will convince themselves that they need it.
Once you make them want something,
They will do the rest of the selling for you.

It sounds easy. Did I say it was easy? No, this is where the skill in advertising comes in.
How do you make them want it in the first place?

You plug the benefits. It’s as simple as that.
1/ How much extra money they will make.
2/ How much extra free time they will have.
3/ Holidays in far more exotic places.
4/ A better motor car.
5/ The esteem of their friends and relations.

I could list another fifty benefits but I am sure you get the idea.
Those are the top five. These are the main ones that will spur someone to make that extra effort or to purchase the latest gizmo for their home or business.

They are not interested in you as a person. You are just a means to an end. Convince them that you have something that they really want and if they can’t get it from you they will get it from somewhere else. As soon as you have convinced your prospect, Ask them to buy. Ask them for the money. Make it easy for them to pay. Have a prominent button for them to press to take them to your checkout. Thousands of sales are lost every year by people who are too shy to ask for the money.
