Building Your Business with an Opt-in List
Email marketing is one of the most effective marketing methods nowadays simply because virtually almost all people use email. Check on those email fields or blanks required to be filled up on various forms needed in processing different transactions. A person without an email address is tantamount to a person without an online home, which is one big important truth about this generation.
Make sure that your email marketing campaigns do not offend people.
The way to surmount this dilemma is through permission-based advertising. There's no harm in trying after you have gained their permission.
You must be very careful as to who to, and who not to email. Learn to know which group of people on your list would give you high ROI or return on investment.
The Real Deal with Building Opt-in Lists.
Building an opt-in list is not a piece of cake particularly for the uninitiated. Here is a rundown of tips on how to succeed in this kind of marketing endeavor.
The strategic Collection of Data
Know which information to ask for. What information will help you lower your expenses and make sales flourish. If you want information from your prospects, ask for it. Don’t be shy.
Ask for information regarding their full name and email addresses. That’s all you really need to make sales. I find it a big turn off when I am asked for my home and business address, plus my phone number, when I know for sure that they will never need to use this information.
Good Implementation
Various methods, often low-cost, abound to hasten and facilitate the building up of one's opt-in database.
Modern technology should be employed in making this aspect of your marketing a lot more manageable. Tracking your email marketing results can be left to your auto-responder. Make note of your high traffic groups of opt-ins. There is no need to over spend when building an opt-in list. Websites are an excellent tool for data collation and providing you with relevant info regarding your email offers. Use forms that solicit your visitor's email address and consent. A good auto-responder Will be capable of doing most of this work for you.
You may want to ask for signups for email services. Make your website more visible through these media. Offering free electronic newsletters and or rewards program can do well in making it easy to win the nod of your audiences, too.
Giveaway offers or entries on sweepstakes are great for opt-in to volunteer their contact details.
These tactics should be applied with adequate caution and should focus on earning the trust of your opt-in list instead of simply collating data for your sole benefit. Always make sure that the forms that you use and other methods that you employ will not necessitate too much fuss to subscribe. Make it easy for people to signup to your list. Don’t ask too many questions.
You can’t go wrong provided you use your own opt-in list and make sure that every time you mail your list, you provide somewhere on the letter, a link where they can easily ask to be taken off the list. (It’s the law.)

YOUR OPT-IN LIST.
Can You Really Use Articles To Build Your Opt In List?
You bet you can!
REMEMBER. The money is in the list. Keep that phrase at the back of your mind at all times.
Getting customers in your site should always be your prime concern.
How do you create a list when you are just starting out. The obvious way is to ask people to join your list. But before you can ask, you have to find the people.
It’s not all that difficult. There are a number of ways of finding the people who could be interested in what you have to offer.
One tried and trusted method is by writing short, informative articles. These articles are distributed free to anyone who likes to publish them. A well written article will get published in ezines and newsletters, even in book form, all over the world. I came across an article, that I had written over two years ago. in an ezine published in April this year. It was still working for me after all that time.
I said that it was still working for me. How was that? “Good question.” At the bottom of every article that you write, you put short note that says who you are, what you do with a link back to your website. It’s known as a ‘resource box’.
You also state at the beginning that anyone can publish the article provided that they also publish the author’s resource box at the bottom An article in an ezine with many thousands of subscribers will be read by a very large percentage of them. Most will read your little note at the bottom and some will click on the link back to your website to see what you are offering.
When this happens, your auto-responder will capture the name and address so that it can send an email asking their permission for you to email them with further offers at a later date. If they agree, you have another addition to your ‘Opt In List.’. If you email them without their permission it is what is known as SPAM.. No one likes Spam and it is now illegal in most countries.
Why would the author of an ezine use your article rather than write his/her own? It’s a good question. Let’s answer it. Put your self in their shoes. You are running a business. It takes up a lot of your time. Your ezine is your main method of keeping in touch with your customers. They have all agreed to receive the ezine on a regular weekly basis, and expect it to arrive on time.
If the ezine contains only two articles in each publication, that will require 100 articles each year. That is a lot of extra work for someone who wants the benefits of working on-line, plus some free time with the family.
How will the publisher know that you have written an article? “You ask some good questions,” There are two main ways. One is to find an ezine that uses outside articles and is compatible with your article. Email the author offering the article for publication.
An even better way is to find an ezine that uses outside articles and write one to suit that particular ezine, Then make your offer to the publisher. You could end up being paid a fee to write the regular weekly articles for that ezine. With your own ‘Resource box’ at the bottom of each.
Working in this manner can take up a lot of your time. Time that could be spent writing more articles. There is another way.
Article directories. What is an article directory? “You ask a lot of questions.”
An article directory is just what the name implies. “A directory of articles” Somewhere where an author can have his/her articles listed for publication in ezines and newsletters. This is where people come to from all over the world looking for articles suitable for their particular ezine etc. .
Now is the time to start your own ezine. Once you start an opt-in list you must keep in touch with it.
Well written articles full of content and useful information will help in building your reputation as an expert in your subject. More subscribers will be enticed to your list. When they read the articles in your ezine, they will be intrigued as to what will come next. Subscribers to your ezine will be offered freebies and special offers on a regular basis earning money for you every time that you publish.
Have a special section on your website for all of your articles. Once people find it they will come back again and again to see what’s new. If they like your style of writing, they could become regular users of your articles. Every time that one of your articles is published a flurry of its readers will click on your link at the bottom to see what you are offering. It may be only a dozen or so. Or it could be several hundreds. It will depend upon the number of subscribers the publication has. Once your articles start to circulate your opt-in list will start to grow without any extra help from you.
Many sites and companies have realized the importance of articles and this also aids in search engine optimization. As more people are heading towards the internet for their information needs, Giving them the right information via articles on your site will increase the flow of your website traffic. With more traffic, the percentage of your sales will grow. More sales turn into more profit.
There is a demand for well written, information enriched and keyword packed articles. If you can write them. You owe it to yourself and your dependents to get stuck in and do it.
